Is Anytime Fitness Meguro Good for Travelers?
Yes—especially if you want a full strength workout without going far from Meguro Station. The free-weight and machine selection is broad enough for my usual training, and the location makes it easy to fit a session around sightseeing. I often see serious lifters here, as well as members from overseas. Before your first visit, check which access option applies to you.
How to Get There
Sun Felista Meguro, 3F, 2-27-1 Kamiosaki, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo 141-0021
Leave JR Meguro Station through the West Exit and walk toward Yoshinoya, a beef-bowl restaurant chain. Continue past Yoshinoya and look for the outdoor stairs leading up to Sun Felista Meguro.

After passing Yoshinoya, look for the Sun Felista Meguro signs and take these stairs.
Enter the building, then head to the gym on the third floor.
You’ve reached the gym entrance on the third floor.

In my experience, the regular machine area covers the usual full-body training needs. Alongside it, the rack choices and dumbbell range make the free-weight area useful for heavier sessions as well as everyday workouts. Even when the gym feels busy, I generally find waits for individual strength machines manageable because there is a broad selection.

For a warm-up or a shorter cardio session during a trip, there are several types of equipment to choose from. I’ve sometimes had to wait for a treadmill, so leave a little flexibility if running is the main reason for your visit.
Crowd Levels
Busiest observed windows: Weekday 18:00–00:00; Weekend 10:00–19:00.
Based on my observations, weekday daytime is relatively quieter, while weekday evenings are generally busier. Weekend daytime can also feel crowded. I’ve also had some quieter Friday-night sessions, although that is a personal observation rather than a separate measured time series.

Local Gym Rules
Rack booking
2 of 4 power racks use 20-minute booking slots.
The blue racks use the whiteboard. Write your name and start/end times in the next available slot. Do not enter duplicate advance bookings for the same rack. The remaining racks are first come, first served.
Use the booking board even when the gym is quiet.
If nobody has the next booking, you may book another 20-minute session.
Weight handling
Lower weights gently and avoid impacts or vibrations that could disturb the bars and restaurants on the floor below. Take care when deadlifting, using racks, setting down dumbbells and putting away plates.
Photography
Photography and filming are allowed if you follow the gym’s posted rules. Respect other members’ privacy and check the current rules before recording.
Shoes
Outdoor shoes are allowed.

Showers & Changing
Men’s showers: 3. You’ll find shampoo, body wash, and a hair dryer.
No towel rental. You can buy towels for ¥70 each.
There are also women’s showers. I find the showers and changing areas clean. There can be a wait in the morning and evening.
Other Facilities
Tanning
¥600 for a 7-minute session.
Vending & Fitness Snacks
A vending machine is available.
Protein bars and similar fitness snacks are sold near the entrance.

Final Verdict
Good fit if you’re staying around Meguro, already use Anytime Fitness, or want a full strength session close to the station.
It’s less convenient if you’re carrying a suitcase or need a lockable day-use locker. Non-members who are only free in the evening should note that Drop-in check-in closes at 4:30 PM.
